
Society Of Local Volunteers’ Effort (SOLVE), Nepal completed it’s 31 years of development voyage with diversified experiences in Nepal. In the changed context there are still many unmet needs of Nepalese people to uplift their living standard. SOLVE-Nepal is working with the women since last three decades to empower them in different aspects of society. The Economic Empowerment and Social Empowerment is the main goal to bring them in Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI). For which, SOLVE has run Micro Credit to women, Women enterprise development, Strengthening saving and credit cooperative led by women, Legal empowerment against domestic violence, information about local government governance system, Water and Sanitation (WASH), Climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. SOLVE is currently also working on effect of COVID-19 to women and measures to overcome from this problem in it’s targeted community with provision of alternative incomes.
SOLVE-Nepal, in it’s history of 31 years has faced and experienced many challenges and hurdles in the path of development. The worldwide effect of COVID-19, the changing policies of international donor agencies, changes in nation’s political system are some of the elements that always have to face the effect by development workers. But, the constant favour of our funding agency helping us to drive our mission in different community of Nepal, where our right holders are living. It really supported to change their life styles. We must thank to all of them, who contributed us to reach with them.
SOLVE-Nepal will keep continue it’s development efforts in the coming years. There are many areas, where still the requirement of basic needs. As organization prepared it’s strategy to intervene in five development areas a. Financial Access and promotion of Women Enterprise Development b. Women empowerment for peace and development c. Climate change adaptation/ disaster risk reduction d. Water and Sanitation (WASH) and Governance.
We commit that our tireless effort will gives us the result as we hope in the days to come to change the Nepalese society.
